Goodbye, Potty John! Hello Composting Toilet!

It’s time for Effie to say goodbye to her Potty John! Effie’s Potty John lies at the foot of the mesa that her overlooks her homestead. It’s been in rough condition, facing the large red mesa wall, the door flew off during a heavy wind storm. Her daughter Alvina remarks, “I always get nervous with my mom walking to the bathroom at night. I’m afraid that she could fall or step on a nail or something.”

The Tsé Bii’ Team has been working hard on Effie’s home updates. With the roof complete, we are starting to build the indoor bathroom, plumbing infrastructure, and electrical infrastructure for the home. Effie is most excited about having a built out bathroom, especially a shower. “I can’t wait to take my first shower inside my own home,” she says with a tear in her eye.
